Benefits of Dry Downdraft Tables
Installing high quality downdraft tables as part of your production process will provide workers with a safe environment to accomplish their work, while ensuring a high level of quality and performance to which you’ve grown accustomed. Downdraft tables have the ability to capture fine dust particles, smoke and fumes at the source, so you don’t have to be concerned about workplace contamination or health conditions affecting your employees.

Benefits of Wet Downdraft Tables and Capturing Combustible Dust in the Workplace
Combustible dust is a by-product of many industrial work applications. A reading known as a KST value determines whether dust is combustible or not, with a reading greater than zero showing its combustibility. Combustible dust is a serious fire and explosion risk, creating the potential for severe injuries or death to employees, costly property damage, long-term environmental harm and an interruption to normal business activities.
The key to keeping combustible dust at bay is to capture it at the source, before it has an opportunity to cause damage. Wet downdraft tables capture and contain combustible dust, using water as the medium to bond to particles and render them harmless
Why Use a Wet Downdraft Table?
Wet downdraft tables are valuable pieces of equipment if
you perform high risk applications that include:
- Grinding, cutting or deburring metals like aluminum,
magnesium or titanium
- Handling and processing certain chemicals
- Mixing, grinding, blending and packaging food products
- Mixing, grinding, blending and packaging pharmaceuticals
- Mixing and grinding rubber
This self-cleaning dust collector is designed for eliminating smoke, dust and other unbreathables from the air. The powerful blower features a high face velocity, removing particulate as small as 0.5 micron with the standard filter.
The FRED-C Series line of dust collectors incorporates a downflow vertical design to effectively filter and separate dust from a polluted airstream while preventing the re-entrainment of dust on the cartridges.
The FRED-C Series collectors range in size from 12 to 128 cartridges, depending on your needs. The Venturi reverse-pulse cleaning increases filter life by blasting a higher volume of air onto the filters, delivering superior cleaning performance compared to conventional pulse jet sytems.
- Small Footprint, and easy to operate
- Automatic Filter Cleaning makes service easy
- Capture-at-source for Cleaner Air
- Complies with OSHA guidelines
- Venturi Reverse Pulse Cleaning

Capture and Filter Dust and Welding Fumes using Ambient Air Cleaners
Offering both cost-effective disposable filter air cleaners and self-cleaning filtration systems for different budgets and application requirements. Our T Series Ambient Air Cleaners excel at extracting welding fumes, collecting dust and airborne oil mist from production shops and welding bays. The Air Hawk line of ambient air cleaning provides a self-cleaning option to reduce filter maintenance intervals and filter cleaning costs.
Common ambient air cleaner applications include:
- Welding Fumes
- Plasma Cutting Smoke
- Grinding and Sanding Dust
- Oil Mist Collection
- Nuisance Dust
How the T Series Ambient Air Cleaners Work?
The T Series ambient air cleaners are typically either setup in a wall mounted configuration along a wall or column, or are chain hung with eyebolts on the trusses of a building. The units are built from a rugged powder coated steel structure with lightweight polyethylene plastic panels to allow for easy and quick installation. Air cleaners are typically arranged in a staggered layout along the perimeter of the plant to ensure a circular airflow pattern between units. Dirty air is pulled through both sides of the unit, with a 4” panel prefilter and a MERV 15 multi-pocket main bag filter. The air is then blown out the side exhaust of the unit, moving dirty air over into the next air cleaner and creating a T like airflow pattern.
How the Air Hawk Self-Cleaning Air Cleaners Work?
The Air Hawk self-cleaning air cleaners pull air through a louvered inlet with a prefilter roll, allowing you to easily change over the media as the filter material is used up. The unit contains MERV 15 nanofiber filter cartridges with a reverse pulse cleaning system which pulses the accumulated dust into a drawer below. An available hopper drum lid kit allows for the collection and disposal of the accumulated debris. The filtered air is then exhausted through two silencers reducing the noise level and redirecting the airflow towards the next Air Hawk air cleaners.
Benefits of a Portable Fume Extractor
A portable fume extractor is a machine that removes harmful smoke and fumes from the air after soldering or welding, by using suction. Their portability enables use in confined spaces, allowing you to remove fumes at the source without jeopardizing worker safety or the quality of the work. Using a portable fume extractor provides many benefits, including:
- Flexibility in the work environment
- Safety and reliability
- Compliance with all regulatory guidelines
- Range of sizes and features to meet your needs
- Easy maintenance and cleaning
